Meet the Staff
Principal: Anitra Jensen
Hello KES Families! I am Lisa Lowenfels, Kelly's 4th and 5th grade teacher. You have likely seen my face around the halls, as this is my 19th year at Kelly Elementary! My family includes Maddie (14) and Miles (11), both of whom have just recently moved through KES as students.
I have a passion for plants, birds, and all things creepy crawly, which is likely at the root of my experiential and science education background. I enjoy getting out on the trails (hiking and cross country skiing), and get my hands dirty in the garden whenever possible! I love this tiny school community of ours immensely, and feel so grateful to be with your children each and every day!
Liz Owings, also known as Ms. Liz to your awesome kiddos. She has really enjoyed getting to know them a little bit over the last few months. Liz pops in and out of each classroom throughout the afternoon and gets the privilege of spending time with everyone. Before coming to Kelly, she has been a middle school history teacher, children’s ministry director and homeschool tutor. Her family moved to Kelly in February of 2020 and they love it here! She has four children and three of them are at KES: Logan (8th), Caleb (6th), Timber (2nd), and Seeley (1st). Some of you and your children may also know her husband, Glenn Owings, who runs the 4-H program in Teton County.
Special Education/ Interventionist:
Brianna has been teaching for TCSD for 8 years as a special education teacher, classroom teacher, and interventionist. She attended school in Wisconsin and received three undergraduate degrees in education in 2015, and a masters in curricculum and instruction in 2017. In her free time she enjoys cooking up delicious meals for her friends, skiing on blue bird days, gardening, and DIYing projects for herself and others. She was previously known as Ms. B, but recently got married over the summer and now goes by Mrs. G.
Lauren has been an art teacher for over 15 years, working with all grade levels K-12. She has a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Studio Art, and Forestry. Lauren loves to make pottery, mountain bike, ski, and travel
Mr. Gade grew up in Sundance, Wyoming and attended the University of Wyoming for music school. Mr. G resides in Jackson and has been a music teacher for TCSD for the past 18 years, primarily at JHHS and JHMS, but has really enjoyed the move back to elementary music at JES and KES the last two years! Mr. Gade says, "It has been a pleasure working at Kelly Elementary. I enjoy the laid back atmosphere at Kelly Elementary and it is a treat getting to spend a day in the park each week!" Mr. Gade is an avid fly fisherman, trailrunner and skier and enjoys spending his spare time playing in the mountains or on the our rivers.
This is Doug Loughry's fourth year as our teacher-librarian. Previous to this he was a public librarian in Big Piney Wyoming and taught fourth grade for several years. He loves to get outside with his family and enjoy all the amazing places our area has to offer.

Polly Turner (AM Math)
Polly Turner is the morning para, supporting our fabulous teachers and spending time with your awesome kiddos. She has a background in outdoor education, teacher training, and nature study. Her daughter Wren is in 5th grade at KES and daughter Phoebe is now in 8th grade and was at Kelly for all six years. Polly loves hanging out with all the kids, and can’t wait to get to know other KES parents. She thinks Kelly School is about the most special place on earth, and feels so grateful to be able to work and learn here!
Liv Staryk (All day)
Liv is a full-time para at Kelly. She graduated from Mountain Academy in 2016, and in spring 2023, she moved back to Jackson after completing her master’s in special education from the University of Washington. Liv feels immense gratitude to be back in Teton County and part of the Kelly community. Outside of school, Liv loves spending time with family and animals, traveling, reading, going for walks and runs, listening to music, and shopping at farmers' markets.
Sharon Schmidt (outlying)
Our daughter attended KES from kindergarten-5th grade, leaving for JHMS in 2022. I just couldn't imagine a life without KES, so now I work here! I've packed in a million lifetimes as a park ranger, firefighter, sled dog racer, librarian and more and have loved all of it. Now, I am lucky to spend my days having all the fun I can handle with the kids of KES.
Nurse Esther grew up in Jackson, graduated from Jackson Hole High School, initially went to Hawaii for college, graduating with 2 degrees, and returned to Jackson once again in 2006. In 2010, she returned to school and completed the BRAND program (accelerated nursing degree) through University of Wyoming, becoming a Registered Nurse in 2011. Esther has worked with Teton County School District since 2016: 2 years at the High School and the remainder with Alta, Kelly, Moran, and Wilson. Currently she lives with her husband, two children, and a wide variety of animal friends in Wilson.
Jackie Hart graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education, a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Endorsement. She loves working with kids and has two boys of her own whom she is very proud of. Her hobbies include traveling and performing with Jackson Hole’s local improv troupe, the Laff Staff. As a pisces born in the Chinese year of the monkey, she loves being near water and would much rather play than make dinner. She has worked at Kelly Elementary longer than any other school in the district (since 2012) and as a result, she has a special place in her heart for KES staff and students. Please feel free to contact her with any questions or concerns you may have regarding childhood speech-language development.
Tori Lee has been working at Teton County School District for 5 years, 4 of them at Kelly. She is an occupational therapist and received her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. In her free time, Tori enjoys going on walks with her dog, Daisy, paddleboarding, and trying new recipes. Tori does not get to spend a lot of time up at KES but she really enjoys her time when she is there!
